Pixar Social AOR

Creative Director, Copy & Strategy — Two Year Tenure

When it comes to animation, few brands if any are more trusted and more prestigious than Pixar. On socials, the playful joy of the brand is always front and center, without ever sacrificing the creative integrity the studio is known for. As Pixar’s Social Agency Of Record, we work closely alongside our clients to not only ideate on and produce a monthly slate of creative content, we’re also constantly on the look out for social holidays and trends we can quickly and meaningfully tap into, assisting in creative output for live event coverage and custom shoots, and supporting on major title release and anniversary campaigns, such as Hoppers or Toy Story’s 30th Anniversary.

From Taylor Swift album releases to social holidays to trending content, Pixar loves jumping in on a cultural moment. Through monthly brainstorms and daily trend sweeps, we took an always-in approach to this kind of content — always in the comments to intimately understand what resonates with fans and always in the know of the broader social landscape to identify what conversations we can meaningfully be a part of. While conversation driving cultural moments like album drops are pitched and produced in advance, we know the importance of moving quickly through production on real-time trends.

Celebrating tentpole and fan-favorite anniversaries is also a major tenant in our content strategy. In 2025, we helped Pixar celebrate the 30th anniversary of the film that started it all — Toy Story. The content strategy for this anniversary campaign was rooted in four thematic pillars: nostalgia, friendship, humor and imagination, and of course, celebration. With this anniversary campaign, our goal was to remind fans why this film and franchise are so important to them while building a steady momentum ahead of Toy Story 5’s release in June 2026. The campaign generated considerable buzz, UGC, and was a Brand Awareness Campaign Finalist at the 18th Annual Shorty Awards.

When it comes to supporting title releases, we do so through custom social content for the film, and by embedding the film into larger catalog pieces, solidifying its status within the pantheon of Pixar titles. Though the content lives on the Pixar Brand socials pages, it’s integral that the film’s tone isn’t lost to larger brand marketing efforts. When it came to promoting Hoppers, a film that’s a bit zanier and edgier (Did your whole theater gasp at the squish? Mine did.) than the Pixar catalog at large, we placed a heavy emphasis on meme treatment, specifically leading with early fan-favorite Tom Lizard. Tom set the tone for our content strategy and assured the film and its tone were never lost in a sea of catalog.
